General Surgery
Board-Certified Surgeons with 50+ Years of Combined Experience
While the name may suggest otherwise, “general” surgery is actually a surgical specialty that involves a whole spectrum or diseases and injuries affecting almost any area of the body, but most commonly on the abdominal regions. General surgeons also handle lumps, bumps, and other soft tissue conditions, in addition to vascular surgery.
Our general surgeons at Ogden Clinic have extensive experience performing common surgeries as well as trauma-related procedures. In fact, Ogden Clinic general surgeons are the exclusive trauma addressors at Ogden Regional Medical Center, certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support. It’s easy to see that Ogden Clinic surgeons are distinguished in Ogden for their outstanding clinical care and discernment.

Minimally Invasive Technologies for Surgery
Many of the common surgeries offered today no longer require large incisions. Thanks to technological advancements and training, surgery at Ogden Clinic has become faster, easier, and safer. In the past, many conditions in the abdominal or pelvic regions required highly invasive open surgery, but now those conditions can be corrected without that level of risk to the body, through minimally invasive surgery using laparoscopic techniques.
At Ogden Clinic, our surgeons are equipped to perform minimally invasive surgery with a laparoscope. Laparoscopic surgery is becoming increasingly popular in the world today thanks to its many benefits including shorter hospital stays, less internal trauma and scarring, faster recovery, diminished post-operative discomfort, and better cosmetic results. Only a few small incisions are necessary for these surgeries. Our surgeons will guide a slender tube with a built-in laparoscopic camera into the affected site. They use thin, responsive instruments to perform the operation with incredible precision. Your Ogden Clinic surgeon views the entire procedure through a video screen while maneuvering the camera.
Procedures such as biopsy, hernia repair, cholecystectomy, polyp and ulcer removal, and colon cancer removal can be performed laparoscopically. Minimally invasive surgery has been practiced for many years here at Ogden Clinic, and they have seen great success including safer operation and easier recovery. Often, these operations don’t even require an overnight stay, saving you time and money.
